چکیده
The objective of the study carried out at Botanical Garden Southern Federal University (Rostov-on-Don, Russia) was to assess seasonal changes in photosynthetic pigments contents leaves maples Acer campestre L., A. negundo and saccharinum L. Leaves samples were collected from selected maple trees once a week. chlorophylls carotenoids determined spectrophotometrically expressed per leaf area (mg/dm2). Similar b campestre, saccharinum, have been found. At same time, differs those negundo. qualitative quantitative parameters differ each other, regardless species. All species significantly mean pigments, highest one featured by campestre. Using analysis variance, variations during season assessed. Chlorophyll variability is lowest A very large difference found variation carotenoid contents. response climatic factors higher than These findings suggest that drought adaptation strategy active, whereas passive. Keywords: chlorophyll, carotenoids, maple, adaptation, factors.

A Test for Pre-Adapted Phenotypic Plasticity in the Invasive Tree Acer negundo L.
Phenotypic plasticity is a key mechanism associated with the spread of exotic plants and previous studies have found that invasive species are generally more plastic than co-occurring species. Comparatively, the evolution of phenotypic plasticity in plant invasion has received less attention, and in particular, the genetic basis of plasticity is largely unexamined. Native from North America, Ac...
متن کاملXylary pH and Reduction Potential Levels of Iron-stressed Silver Maple (Acer saccharinum L.).
Xylary fluid pH and reduction potentials were measured on silver maple (Acer saccharinum L.) grown under Fe and pH stress. Although pH and reduction potential (millivolt/59.2) varied significantly in the nutrient solution, xylary pH and reduction potential remained constant. It was concluded that changes in the pH and reduction potential in the xylary fluid of silver maple are not responsible f...
